Education

Education is an important ministry within St. John’s. We have a rotation style Sunday School for children ages 3 through 5th grade that includes theater, cooking, arts and crafts.

Children in 6th-8th grade meet every Sunday morning to enhance their Confirmation lessons allowing them to grow in their faith.  In addition, youth in 7th and 8th grade attend Wednesday evening Confirmation classes. Confirmation students are encouraged to keep prayers journals, attend worship regularly and serve within St. John’s and our community.

Each year, our Pastor holds First Communion Classes for children in 2nd grade and above that would like to participate in Holy Communion.  This class allows the children and parents to learn about the sacraments and it’s significance in our faith life at St. John’s. The children make their own chalices to use on the day of their First Communion.

Weekly Adult Bible Studies are periodically held on Sunday mornings between services. Martha Bible Circle meet in the Library on the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM.

Religion says “Change and you can join us.” Jesus says “Join us and you will change.”

There is a huge difference! Jesus doesn’t expect people to be perfect. He just wants them to walk with him. This bible study will take us on a journey through the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John as we look at Jesus’ teaching on what it means to follow.

No matter what you believe, no matter how you behave, Jesus invites you to follow…..

This 8 week bible study will meet Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in the Council Room beginning February 22nd.  Cost of book approximately $10.  A sign-up will be going around the next few weeks. Please contact Denise Pamperin or the church office you have any questions.
