Social Concerns

St. John’s is conscientious of our member’s needs and supports helping those in our community that need assistance.  Members of our congregation regularly visit and administer Holy Communion to St. John’s members that are unable to attend worship services. In addition, Pastor along with members, visit those individuals hospitalized and request a hospital visit.
At the beginning of the school year, Social Concerns gathers school supplies for
Lutheran World Relief and our local schools to be distributed to those families in need.

Lutheran World Relief Quilts and School Bags

Like to Sew…

Our quilting ladies meet once a week on Wednesdays at 12:30 PM in our Club Room. You may enter through the Ramsdell Street entrance. If you have a love for sewing and want to help people in need come join in. We have ladies from the surrounding area which come and sew on a weekly basis with the recipient being Lutheran World Relief. The quilts are used around the world to keep people warm, provide shelter, a baby carrier, a place to showcase vegetables in the marketplace and much more.

Another mission that is carried out at St. John’s is the LWR school kits. Your help to provide a school bag is greatly needed and appreciated. The pattern for the backpack can be found here.
